Glorious Nature of Salvation.

Fancy for a moment, your most vivid image of beauty. Envisage the attractive aesthetic of glamour and elegance. The most incredible scene will become pale when we are ushered into God‘s presence and see him face-to-face. The stunning, chiseled beauty of a popstar or world-class athlete will appear wrinkled and aged, when we observe God in his splendor.

So why do we waste our time with trivial joy? Why do we commit to mindless fleeting pleasures when, here, in the Manger, and here, in the Word, we can watch and adore the eternal resplendence of our God.

We can witness our God who has always cared for us.

We can discern the glorious face of our God who viewed his deathly task as an act of ardent love.

Here we can witness our God who knows no limits.

In this manger we catch a glimpse of our God, with meticulous design, and he has mended the ages with his life.

Fancy, for a moment, gazing at the sublime, staggering handsomeness of your salvation . . . the Child born to us, the Savior of the World.

“The people who walked in darkness

have seen a great light;

those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,

on them has light shone” (Isaiah 9:2).

“For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given;

and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

and his name shall be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

…”behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins’” (Matthew 1:20-21).
